This came in today from the Denver Police Department. They are seeking a hit and run driver who killed a pedestrian at the entrance to a shopping center on Leetsdale between South Oneida and South Quebec Saturday night at 8:00 pm.
CITY WIDE – On October 29, 2005, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Traffic Investigations Bureau Detectives responded to the 7100 Block of Leetsdale Drive, on a serious injury auto vs. pedestrian collision. Two people were crossing the roadway from the north to the south, towards the shopping center. A vehicle traveling eastbound on Leetsdale Drive struck one of the pedestrians and then fled the scene without stopping to render medical aid or summon the police. The victim is a Hispanic Male, 43 years of age and was transported to Denver Health Medical Center ER where he died as a result of his injuries. We are not at this time releasing ID pending notification of next of kin. Investigators are requesting the assistance of the public in locating the suspect vehicle and the driver. Investigators are looking for a light blue, mid 90’s 4 door sedan, possibly a Dodge Intrepid, which was driven by a young African American male. There may have been at least two other occupants inside the suspect vehicle. Damage to the front of the vehicle in the headlight/turn signal area is expected.
