After 69 years, the ski train that traveled to Winter Park from Union Station is no more, The Denver Post reports. The train operation will be purchased for an undisclosed amount by Algoma Central Railway Inc., a subsidiary of the Canadian National Railway Co. A spokesman for the Anschutz Co. says the sale is based on a “combination” of reasons, adding that it is “common knowledge that the train consistently lost money in its operation, yet profitability never really was the driving issue” behind the sale, the spokesman says.
