If you are a football fan, most of your attention this weekend will probably be focused on Peyton Manning’s ankle. Save some of your time, though, because 1) the guy doesn’t need more pressure and 2) this weekend is the last home game of the regular season for the Colorado School of Mines football team. On Saturday, the Orediggers will take on Chadron State (a game we hyped in the October issue). We don’t tire of watching head coach Bob Stitt’s offensive plays, or the gorgeous foothills in the background of the field. Plus, the quirky band (pictured here) is always entertaining. Our tip: Enjoy the game, but hop out a few minutes early and grab a seat at Golden City Brewery, which will be packed when the stands clear.
