It’s hard for me to get excited about seeing movies in a multiplex during the summer when Colorado offers so many spots to watch films outdoors. This year, a new venue joins the lineup, from a beautiful location: the Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield.
Movies will be shown monthly in the grassy amphitheater, and we’re encouraged to bring our low chairs, blankets, and food-filled picnic baskets, although concessions (including glow suckers) will also be sold.
The next viewing, Fantastic Mr. Fox, is Thursday, June 10. Gates will open at 7 p.m., and movies will begin at dusk, rain or shine. Tickets are available for purchase online. They run $5 for adults and $4 for members; children under three are free.
