Thanksgiving Turkey Drive: Help put a turkey on every table this Thanksgiving. The Denver Rescue Mission is partnering with 100 agencies to supply food to homes in need and allow everyone to celebrate the holiday. Donate frozen turkeys of 12 lbs. or larger or give cash towards a turkey ($15 to $20) to reach the organization’s goal of 15,000 turkeys by Thanksgiving Day. Feed Your S.O.U.L.: Perfect your cooking skills just in time for the Thanksgiving feast. Renowned New York chefs Samm Sherman and Michael Tortorello walk you through the preparation of a multi-course meal, as well as teach you how to make a crave-worthy cocktail. Proceeds benefit S.O.U.L, an organization that provides learning opportunities in Uganda. Monday, 6 to 8 p.m.; Linger, 2030 W. 30th Ave.
Huff ‘N Puff Before You Stuff: Get your hearts beating bright and early with a Cardio Super Class, which combines kickboxing, zumba, and core, or a 105-minute Cycling Super Class at the YMCA. These classes are open to both members and non-members, and are sure to speed up your metabolism for the rest of the day. Your ticket to this festive fitness event is a $3 donation and a can of food. Turkey Trot: Make room for that extra slice of pumpkin pie by participating in the annual Turkey Trot in Washington Park. Considered one of the best Thanksgiving events in the country by Forbes Travel Guide, the race is expected to draw more than 10,000 runners and walkers, and another 10,000 spectators, so be sure to sign up soon. For the tots who are too young to trot, there will be a quarter-mile family fun-run through the park. Proceeds go towards Mile High United Way. Thursday, 10 a.m.; Washington Park
100 Men Who Cook: At this black-tie event, men from throughout the community throw on their chef hats and cook up a sample of delectable dishes. Entertainment, dancing, and a full-scale Casino Royale ballroom make this elegant evening a perfect continuation of the holiday. Proceeds benefit different organizations serving the youth of Denver through sports, music, and education programs.
