Ugly Sweater Run 5K: Bust out that heinous, festive sweater this Saturday and get your sweat on at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. Holiday-themed stations will greet you at every mile throughout the race, and awards for best and worst sweater, as well as best facial hair (authenticate or fake) will be given at the after-party. Bonus: Your $35 registration gets you a free post-race beer or hard cider, and a custom vintage knit hat that should complement your already-awful outfit. Proceeds benefit Save the Children. Saturday, 11 a.m.; 6000 Victory Way, Commerce City
Denver Pavilions Holiday Carousel: Knock a few items off your holiday shopping list and take a break to help the Food Bank of the Rockies. Last week, a carousel was erected on the 16th Street Mall and will stay there until December 21. Swing by any day until then with a can of nonperishable food to donate, and you’ll get a free ride on the merry-go-round. 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily until Dec. 21; 16th Street Mall & Glenarm Place, Denver
That's only $1 per issue!

Run or Walk with Athletes with Disabilities: Save your workout for Wednesday night and volunteer to run with Achilles Colorado. Head to the Boulder Public Library at 6 p.m. to be a guide for visually-impaired athletes, and those with other various disabilities, on a short run or walk. Since 2010, this non-profit has been promoting personal achievement and lowering barriers to living a fulfilling life for those with disabilities in Colorado. Bonus: These meetups happen every Wednesday in Boulder and every Monday in Denver at Wash Park. 6 p.m. weekly; 1001 Arapahoe Ave., Boulder; 701 S. Franklin, Denver
Nuggets Tickets for Sarah’s Home: If you haven’t made it to a Nuggets game this year, now is the time to nab your tickets for the December 30 match against the Los Angeles Lakers. With discounted prices ranging from $30 to $80 (no taxes or fees!), and four seating sections to choose from, you won’t find a better deal this season. Best of all, 5 bucks from every ticket sale goes straight to Sarah’s Home, an organization assisting survivors of underage sex trafficking in the U.S. Your ticket purchase also gets you an exclusive, courtside seat to watch both teams warm up forty-five minutes before general admission and an invitation to a pre-party at Coohills. December 30, 7 p.m., 1000 Chopper Circle
