#GivingTuesday: Everyone knows about Black Friday and Cyber Monday. But after you’re finished snatching up all the best shopping deals, turn your focus to #GivingTuesday, a day for businesses, community centers, students, families, and charities to come together to increase the impact they have in their communities. This global day of giving happens almost exclusively online, and has gained momentum over the past two years through participants sharing ways they’ve given back using hashtags on social media. To find a cause you connect with or to join in events happening throughout the day, visit givingtuesday.org.
9th Annual Aspen Summit for Life: More than 122,000 people are currently waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant. One person can save eight lives with organ donation and improve 100 lives through tissue donation. Learn more at the 9th Annual Aspen Summit for Life, hosted by the Chris Klug Foundation. The weekend-long event will include a wine and dine event, a party at the historic Hotel Jerome, and a 2.5-mile uphill race on Aspen Mountain. Friday to Saturday; Aspen Mountain, 601 E. Dean St., Aspen
Parade of Darks: Last week you were nibbling on your Aunt Tina’s mystery casserole and gobbling down turkey. This week, turn your focus to beer. Indulge in 60 dark brews all in the amber to opaque variety at the annual Parade of Darks by Wynkoop Brewing Company. But even better, feel good while sipping (or chugging), as all proceeds go to Denver’s hunger-relief organization, Metro CareRing. Saturday, 1 p.m.; Bindery on Blake, 2901 Blake St.
Operation Christmas Joy for the Colorado National Guard: Expand your giving this holiday season to include the families of deployed members of the Colorado National Guard. This toy drive helps more than 500 families each year by collecting new unwrapped toys for the Colorado National Guard Santa Shoppe. Gifts for adults are also accepted, so kids can pick out something special for their parents. Check out the website for a full list of needed items. Through December 11; KEZW Studios, 4700 S Syracuse St., Suite 1050
