5th Annual Charity Wine Tasting: Wine lovers can sip for charity at this fundraiser to benefit Stride, a nonprofit that works to move families out of poverty. The tasting includes 11 wines from Balistreri Vineyards, plenty of appetizers, and brews from Kokopelli Beer Company, as well as non-alcoholic options. Other than pleasing your palette, the event will include a silent and live auction, winery tours, and a short program about Stride’s work. Dog Training Class to Benefit Pets for Vets Colorado: Sept. 19 is Responsible Dog Owner Day, and what’s a better way to celebrate than taking a training class with your pooch? Conscious Real Estate is hosting a dog training fundraiser to benefit the Colorado Chapter of Pets for Vets, an organization that rescues dogs and provides trained companion animals to veterans. The class will introduce dog owners to clicker training (clickers included), offer giveaways, and host fun games like doggie musical chairs. Make sure to bring treats and a leash. Living Beyond Breast Cancer’s Wellness Weekend: Denver plays host to this year’s Living Beyond Breast Cancer’s annual fall conference and signature fundraising event. The weekend-long conference focuses on integrative wellness for breast cancer patients and survivors, and will include a Yoga on the Steps fundraising event at Cheesman Park. The event will support LBBC’s mission to connect people with trusted breast cancer information and a supportive community. National experts, including Dr. Pallav Mehta of MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper and co-author of the forthcoming book After Cancer Care, will be in attendance to discuss integrative cancer care. 8th Annual Putts & Kicks 4 Hope Tournament: September is Suicide Prevention Month, and the Western Colorado Suicide Prevention Foundation is putting on a golf and footgolf (played with a soccer ball) tournament to support their mission to erase the stigmas surrounding suicide. This event will also encourage those suffering from mental illness to seek treatment, and show support for those who have died by suicide or know someone that has. Dinner will be provided.
