Taste Wine, Fight Homelessness: Put your love of wine to good use at the 8th annual Wine Tasting to Benefit the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless. The coalition has been helping the homeless for 25 years by moving people into safe homes, helping to keep families together, and delivering health care and support services. At this $75 per person event, patrons are invited to sample a special selection of wine, along with an assortment of beer from local breweries. There will be food pairings provided by Table 6, and live music courtesy of the Jazz Partners. Guests are also free to peruse the EPIC Arts Spring 2015 Youth Exhibit—with an apt theme of social justice—as they drink. Thursday, 6-8 p.m.; Redline Gallery, 2350 Arapahoe St.

Fundraise for Nepal: The tragedy Nepal’s recent earthquakes have caused is ongoing, with thousands dead, and even more without a home, and in need of basic supplies. No region was hit harder than the Langtang Valley, which borders Tibet and is famous for trekking. Maura Gramzinski, of the Denver-based shop and lifestyle brand RedCamper, is throwing a fundraiser to support Langtang Village, where her stepmom, Chheten Tamang, was born and raised. Tamang lost over 30 members of her direct and extended family as a result of the earthquake, and the village itself was virtually destroyed. The fundraiser will collect basic survival goods, as well as money for funeral costs and housing for survivors in Kathmandu (those who can’t attend can donate here). The free event will feature a silent auction, a donation-based Bloody Mary bar, courtesy of the Real Dill, and live music from old-time guitarist Reverend Deadeye. Chhenten Tamang, as well as Eric Jean and Della Hoffman—who were trekking in Langtang Valley when the earthquake occurred—will also be there to share their experiences. Thursday, 7-10 p.m.; Converge Denver, 3327 Brighton Blvd.
The original theatrical trailer for Back to the Future
Pedal for Parkinson’s: This Thursday, head over to the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Littleton for a special screening of 1985’s Back to the Future. Thanks to partial sponsorship from the Natural Way Racing and Lagunitas Brewing Co. (your ticket includes a free brew), all proceeds from this event will be donated to Pedaling4Parkinson’s Colorado. Started in 2010 by three Denver-area women, Pedal for Parkinson’s has raised over $130,000 in research funding for the disease. Why Back to the Future? The film’s star, Michael J. Fox, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 1991, and has been spreading awareness around the disease—and raising money towards finding a cure—ever since. (He founded the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research in 2000.) Come for the classic, family-friendly film, but also for the special introduction taped by Fox exclusively for this screening. Thursday, 7:30 p.m.; 301 S Santa Fe Dr, Littleton
