Youthroots Year End Celebration: Each year, Youthroots places dozens of Denver teenagers in a leadership program, where they raise funds for organizations like Friends First and I Have a Dream Foundation. Help them give back by attending this fundraiser, featuring local food trucks Rolling Smoke BBQ, Mikes 2 Kitchen, and Peteybird ice cream sandwiches. Participate in a balloon pop and silent auction to snag prizes like sailing lessons or a football signed by Champ Bailey, or stop by “change the world” stations and learn more about local nonprofits. Bonus: There will be all-you-can-drink wine, beer, and cocktails. Thursday, 6 to 9 p.m.; Space Gallery, 400 Santa Fe Drive
Fair Trade Oriental Rug Event: Peruse more than 300 hand-knotted Pakistani rugs at Ten Thousand Villages’ four-day event. The nonprofit sells all manner of fair trade items from around the world, giving funds directly to disadvantaged artisans. While the rug makers have already been compensated, purchases and donations help the organization continue commissioning new work to ensure income for rural Pakistani women and families. Not in the market for home decor? Fill out a volunteer application to staff TTV’s Cherry Creek store instead. Wednesday to Saturday, times vary; Augustana Lutheran Church, 5000 E. Alameda Ave.
That's only $1 per issue!
St. Jude’s Glamour and Giving: It’s ladies night at this charitable bash, which benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The event runs the gamut of style and beauty, including a fashion show presented by Larimer Square boutiques, as well as makeovers by Matthew Morris Salon and Skincare. Snack on offerings from the Four Seasons kitchen crew or sip on signature cocktails while you bid on auction items like jewels by Denver’s Gnat Jewelers (coupled with a Zac Posen dress and handbag), or a trip to California for a live taping of The Voice. Friday, 7 p.m.; Four Seasons Hotel, 1111 14th St.
Pubs for Puppies: Drink for a cause with this weekend bar crawl, including at Emerald Isle Restaurant, Peak to Peak Tap Room, and Sand Creek Lounge. Spin Colorado Puppy Rescue’s Wheel of Fortune or play “Minute to Win It” games with a donation. The rescue takes in out-of-state pups that would have otherwise been put down. You can make a donation for set prices online, such as the $15 “Buy a Shot” or $25 “Buy a Stein of Beer” options, or name your own price for a personalized contribution. Stop by the Hopeful Hound on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to adopt a companion from the rescue. Saturday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; various locations
