Events to Attend
Pints for Purpose: Give back by enjoying an after-work beer at Copper Kettle Brewery on Tuesday. One dollar of every pint will go towards scholarships for Children’s Hospital Colorado’s Camp Zenith, an overnight camp for children ages 8 to 18 with traumatic brain injuries. The Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center along with Children’s Hospital Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy staff annually facilitate hiking excursions, climbing adventures, canoeing, and more during this five-day experience. Children return from camp with newfound self-confidence and independence, skills they can draw on for the rest of their lives. Tuesday, 5–10 p.m.; 1338 S. Valentia St.
Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Colorado: Are you craving a different kind of adrenaline rush? Join the brave plungers on Saturday for Special Olympics Colorado’s biggest fundraising series of the year. Participants will jump into the freezing waters of Horsetooth Reservoir in Fort Collins and Aurora Reservoir in Aurora in support of the 19,600 Coloradans with intellectual disabilities who compete in Special Olympics events. Build a team or register as an individual (you must raise the minimum of $75 to participate, $50 for students) and bring your costumes because prizes will be awarded. Stick around for the after-party and to cheer on other plungers. Saturday, 11 a.m.; Horsetooth Reservoir, 4200 W. County Road 38 E., Fort Collins; Aurora Reservoir, 5800 S. Powhaton Rd., Aurora; $75
