Christina Noble Children’s Foundation Charity Auction: Raise awareness without having to raise your voice at this silent auction. Bid on professional photographs of Mongolia and the proceeds will go to the children of the Blue Skies Ger Village, a residential care facility for orphaned and homeless children in Mongolia’s capital, Ulaanbaatar. Walk n’ Roll: Run, jog, walk, or roll into this fun, family-friendly event, put on by the Rocky Mountain Rett Association. A carnival featuring a photo booth, magician, and balloon artist will start off the day, plus participants can grab a free chuck wagon lunch and enjoy a live and silent auction. The main event is the 3K around the lake, which aims to help end Rett Syndrome, a rare genetic mutation affecting brain development in girls. Saturday, 9 a.m.; Clement Park, 7306 W. Woofstock: Don’t let the dog days of summer get you down—bring your four-legged friend to this festival, which supports the Evergreen Animal Protective League in their mission to aid lost or abandoned animals. The day is packed with activities, including a tie-dye table, costume parade/contest, and performances by ’60s cover band The Modnicks, as well as a BBQ with burgers and “dogs.” Adoptable cats and dogs will also be on site in case you’re looking to expand your family. Submit Cancer: Watch top mixed martial arts fighters battle it out in a submission-only challenge to benefit Children’s Hospital of Colorado. Elite UFC athletes like Jake Shields, Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida, Eliot Marshall, and Neil Magny are just some of the featured competitors, while other fighters from Colorado’s Elevation Fight Team, including former UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw, Bojan Velickovic, and Drew Dober, will be in attendance. The Throwdown: Showcase your cornhole skills during this competitive tournament and help the Cottonwood Institute connect kids with their communities and the great outdoors. Teams of two will face off in round-robin competition, and the champions of those groups will advance to a winner’s bracket to “throw down” for first place and an official trophy.
