John Fielder has always used his photographic eye to document every corner of Colorado’s wilderness. Although the tireless environmental activist has traveled widely, and taken countless pictures along the way, until now he hasn’t turned them into an exhibition.
Beginning this weekend and running through the end of the year at his gallery on Santa Fe Drive, Fielder will showcase “Africa Panoramic,” a collection of nature photography from the first-ever trip he took to the sub-continent last May. Just as he does here at home, Fielder was able to get unusually good access to the wetlands, deserts, and savannas of Zambia and Namibia, thanks to his friendship with the African nature photographer and guide Michelle Attala. The two traveled on the ground in an S.U.V., driving more than 2,500 kilometers to capture the extraordinary images. Fielder and Attala will appear at various points throughout the exhibition, so check out the website for details.
