Memorial Day on Monday, May 25, marks a well-needed reprieve from work for most of us, but thousands will be pounding the pavement for the 31st annual Bolder Boulder 10-kilometer Road Race. The official starter of the race will be three-time NCAA championship runner Jenny Barringer, writes Boulder’s Daily Camera. Barringer will be joined by University of Colorado athletic director Mike Bohn. Barringer’s selection as the official starter reinforces the strong relationship between CU and the Bolder Boulder that dates back 29 years. That’s when the late Eddie Crowder, former CU football coach and the one-time athletic director, approached race organizers about having the race end at CU’s Folsom Field.
