The 3rd Annual Collaboration Fest kicks off March 19 at Sports Authority Field at Mile High with more than 75 brew projects debuting their collaborative creations. The experience is all about bringing brewers together to share in experiences, techniques, and various uses of ingredients. We caught up with Indianapolis brewers, Tow Yard Brewing Company, and LoHi brewhouse Factotum to talk about their collaborative brew, “Oatmaha”—a tribute to Peyton Manning’s “Omaha” pre-snap signal-call.

“The idea was to create something whose core was represented by both cities”, says Christopher Bruns, head brewer and co-owner of Factotum.

“The corn dries the brew out a little bit, creates a little citrusy hint and the sage brings more of an earthiness. The idea was to make something very simple, easy to drink, low in alcohol. Something that anyone could enjoy,” says Will Moorman, assistant brewer at Tow Yard.

It should take a few weeks for “Oatmaha” to be ready, but they hope to debut this batch in the taproom on Super Bowl Sunday (February 7). It will also be available at the Collaboration Festival on March 19.
