Nov. 1 Winter on the Mountain Opens, Glenwood Springs
Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park introduces a winter tubing hill, light displays, and two warming yurts (complete with cocoa and cider, of course) this month. You’ll also find music, light shows, s’mores roasting at the fire pit, and a guy with a belly like a bowl full of jelly. Open weekends during the holidays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Nov. 2 150^th Anniversary of the Sand Creek Massacre, Denver
The Tesoro Cultural Center recognizes the 150^th anniversary of the Sand Creek Massacre (November 29, 1864) with a lecture series that kicks off on November 2. The first lecture, “The Descendants’ Voices,” includes an overview by National Park Service historian Jeff Campbell and stories from Karen Little Coyote (Cheyenne) and Al Addison (Arapahoe).

Nov. 11 National Parks: Free Entry
National parks everywhere offer free entry in honor of Veterans Day.

Nov. 14 Pretty Faces, Durango
Lynsey Dyer’s inspirational all-women ski film, Pretty Faces, returns to Colorado (it played in Boulder in September) with a showing in Durango. It will return to the Centennial State on December 5, when the flick hits Aspen.

Nov. 15 Nitro Fest, Longmont
Longmont’s Left Hand Brewing, home of Milk Stout Nitro, celebrates its 21^st birthday with an all-nitrogenized beer fest. More than 20 breweries from across the country will be serving up their best smooth sips.

Nov. 22 Georgetown Santa Train
Santa and his elves pass out goodies to Georgetown Loop Railroad passengers aboard Santa’s North Pole Adventure, November 22 through January 4.

Nov. 28–30 Catch the Glow, Estes Park
The holiday countdown officially begins in Estes Park with this annual evening celebration and parade. Santa will be on hand to help solve any gift-giving quandaries as you shop in the quaint downtown.
