Back in April, three Regional Transportation District buses were involved in major accidents, causing several deaths and severe injuries.
It looked like the incidents had subsided, a bad chapter from a particularly cruel month for RTD. But Sunday night, an RTD bus collided with a cyclist on the 16th Street Mall, near the intersection with Larimer Street.
The driver sounded a horn to avert the accident, but it wasn’t enough. The 72-year-old cyclist was taken to a local hospital in serious condition, reports 9News.
Cyclists, according to an exception under the law, are allowed to ride on the mall on Sundays. But the accident may lead to a total ban of bicycles, according to CBS4.
