If sherry, a fortified wine from Spain, isn’t in your drinking repertoire, you’re not alone. In fact, that’s what Eric Dutton, bar manager and sommelier at Vesta Dipping Grill, is expecting to hear. But he—and the rest of the restaurant’s crew—hopes to broaden your beverage horizons with a Sherry Dinner on Sunday, November 4.
“I’ve been drinking sherry for years, and it’s not what your grandparents drink,” he says. “I want to show people that it’s an amazing and versatile wine.” To showcase the wine’s many faces (it runs from very dry to very sweet), Dutton and executive chef Brandon Foster have paired tapas with different types of sherry. In all, there will be five wines and 15 tapas, along with shared plates that will be served at community tables.
The evening is designed to be fun and communal. “That’s the nature of sherry and tapas,” Dutton says. “Come, hang out, and don’t overthink it.”
6 p.m., $85 per person, 1822 Blake St., 303-296-1970
