Officials believe two brothers—Juan Pedro and Jose Manuel Zaldivar Farias—may have killed Colorado native David Hartley, whose wife claims he was slain by pirates on Falcon Lake along the U.S.-Mexico border. A Mexican police official says authorities are searching for the brothers, who are already wanted for their alleged ties to a gang of lake pirates (via The Associated Press). Authorities are basing their investigation on the account of Hartley’s wife, Tiffany, who lived with her husband in McAllen, Texas.
As the search for David’s body goes on, Tiffany continues to respond to allegations that she might not be telling the truth, telling Fox News over the weekend that her story is “110 percent true.”
Tiffany’s sister, Tia Young of Aurora, says family members are “just relieved they have found suspects and [are] hoping they can give authorities information on where David’s body is. So maybe something will come of this” (via 7News).
