CO150 Film Festival
Surely you’ve heard: The Centennial State turns 150 this year. Film lovers can celebrate Colorado’s sesquicentennial with this cinema fest, which includes screenings of 150 movies that memorialize our fair state, selected by Coloradans. Standout showings include South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut, Little Miss Sunshine, and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, which voters chose as the number-one Colorado film. Shakespeare in Love
Want to get a dose of Shakespeare and work on your tan? You’re in luck: University of Colorado Boulder’s beloved Colorado Shakespeare Festival is taking place again this summer in the Mary Rippon Outdoor Theatre. See this fictionalization of a young Will Shakespeare based on the screenplay by Tom Stoppard and Marc Norman. You can also catch the Bard’s Twelfth Night and Julius Caesar during the fest’s run. Cocoliche: A Spanish/Italian Culinary Playdate

At $90 per person, this globally-inspired, multicourse meal at Luca is much cheaper than flights to Europe. You’ll travel to Spain and Italy via five dishes, including seafood paella (with bay scallops, rock shrimp, and calamari) and Pipirrana, an Andalusian salad with tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, cucumbers, and whipped lemon mascarpone. Wil Swindler Quartet: Album Release Show
As the name of saxophonist Wil Swindler’s latest album, Accumulation: Live at Nocturne, suggests, it was recorded live at the beloved RiNo jazz club over the course of a month. So it’s only fitting that they’re celebrating the album release at the venue. Hear Swindler, along with his quartet (Ben Markley on piano, Matt Smiley on bass, Dru Heller on drums) play tunes from the soundtrack. July 2; 6–10 p.m.; starting at $29
Cherry Creek Arts Festival

Your Fourth of July weekend doesn’t need to center around beer-fueled debauchery. This cultural fest will host more than 250 juried artists, ranging from ceramicists to jewelers to photographers. In addition to the fine arts, there will still be plenty of revelry, thanks to a full lineup of live music. July 3–5; Friday–Saturday 10 a.m.–8 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m.–6 p.m.; free admission
Prana in the Park
Banish the Sunday Scaries at this relaxing, health-focused day in Wash Park. The wellness experience starts with a yoga session set to music from DJ Taz Rashid and Adam Brous, then choose between breathwork sessions, live music performances, a silent disco, and meditation workshops.
