In a neighborhood full of nondescript office buildings and apartment complexes, you can now grab a Tang and tequila cocktail and a lamb neck taco.
Chef Troy Guard‘s inventive Mexican street food and buzzy cantina vibe at Los Chingones are familiar sights by now in RiNo, but, three weeks ago, TAG Restaurant Group expanded the fiesta to the Denver Tech Center.

“We wanted to branch out of the city,” Guard says. “We thought this would be a good opportunity.” Though Los Chingones DTC just opened its doors on November 9, the restaurant is already a great addition to the neighborhood’s chain-heavy dining scene.
Offerings vary only slightly from the original RiNo location, but the differences are significant. Half of the restaurant is reservations-based, so a group in search of a quiet table doesn’t have to share a communal bench with walk-ins on the bar side. And, in addition to the eatery’s existing menu of tacos and cocktails, Los Chingones’ DTC location features a raw bar for ceviche, oysters, and even a Latin-inspired shrimp cocktail.
While you won’t see a raw bar at any old cantina, it’s a natural fit for Guard’s global spin on Mexican cuisine: His seafood dishes, particularly the octopus, celery, and Sriricha–red pepper coulis taco, continue to be the shining stars of the menu.
Whether you’re looking for a Los Chingones staple like the garden guacamole (a particularly tasty seasonal blend at the moment topped with acorn squash and zucchini) or a DTC-exclusive offering from the raw bar or the frozen margarita machine, south suburbanites should pay Los Chingones a visit soon.
