The Colorado Supreme Court is scheduled to release its opinion in the Lisl Auman case Monday.

Auman was conviced of felony murder even though she was already in custody when her companion, shot and killed policeman Bruce VanderJagt. The state’s felony murder law allows a defendant to be convicted even if the defendant did not kill anyone, if an accomplice commits murder during commission of a crime. The case has attracted national attention because Auman was sentenced to life without parole. The late Hunter S. Thompson took up the case and actors Sean Penn, Benecio Del Toro and Johnny Depp have joined the cause.
