There’s more than wintry weather transforming Aspen into a dreamy snow-globe scene of high-country adventures and après-ski decadence this season. In late December, the Snow Lodge Supper Club made its debut at the St. Regis Aspen Resort, combining comforting cuisine, live music, and fine art in one jewel-toned, velvet-swathed setting.

The seasonal concept, which will be open through the end of March, was dreamed up by Jayma Cardoso—founder and creative director of sister property the Surf Lodge hotel and restaurant in Montauk, New York—in partnership with Stephane De Baets, founder and president of Elevated Returns (the company behind the St. Regis Aspen Resort) and founder and owner of the Chefs Club restaurant group. The duo brought on chef Mark Connell (formerly of Casa d’Angelo) to create the supper club’s menu of contemporary and classic Italian shareables and large plates. They also partnered with the team at New York City’s Dante—named “World’s Best Bar” in 2019 by the World’s 50 Best Bar Awards—to develop an innovative cocktail menu, and interior designer Kimberly Bevan of Bevan Interiors to completely reimagine the space formerly occupied by Chefs Club’s Aspen outpost.

Bevan captured the town of Aspen’s glamorous atmosphere with a lush palette of dusty pink and green velvets, which she applied throughout the dining room, lounge, and an enclosed outdoor tent. In the lounge, a pair of vintage, midcentury-modern Nautilus chairs by designer Vladimir Kagan (sourced from Soho Treasures) flanks the fireplace, while a herd of life-size Sheep stools from Clic Gallery—upholstered in plush sheepskin and soft leather—looks on. In the dining room, furnishings from TOV Furniture add a playful vibe with scalloped edges, fringed backs, and tufted cushions. And throughout the space, dramatic works of original art catch the eye, from Richard Phillips paintings capturing human obsessions to gleaming light sculptures by Anthony James (represented by Aspen’s Opera Gallery).

For the next two months, the Snow Lodge will feature a rotating roster of artists in residence, including Tonia Calderon, Heart Evangelista, Brandon Ralph, and Zoe Buckman. The program kicked off with a seven-piece collaborative series in which Brian Bowen Smith’s iconic black-and-white photography serves as a canvas for artist and musician Brandon Boyd’s paintings, marking the duo’s first project together after more than two decades of friendship. The venue will also host a series of live music acts, from DJ sets to acoustic concerts by up-and-coming and established performers, including singer-songwriter Léon and Jake Wesley Rogers.

For those who prefer to feel like they’ve never left the slopes, the best seats in the house are outside, in the St. Regis’ grand courtyard, where Bevan has transformed a yurt into an intimate private dining room with all the hygge vibes, courtesy of weathered woods, cozy shearlings, and a few more of those adorable sheep stools—because luxurious as it may be, this winter wonderland is in the mountains, after all.

The Snow Lodge Supper Club is open Sundays through Thursdays from 4–11 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 4 p.m.–1 a.m., with limited dinner reservations starting at 5 p.m.; reservations can be booked online.
