The perfect Halloween costume focuses on the details. But if your dream makeup look is a bit more than you and your beauty drawer can handle (see the gorgeous but intricate Sugar Skull above), call in the pros. Hair design and makeup salon L Style Bar opened its doors in Larimer Square just in time for the spookiest day of the year. (They’re also a great pit stop before a big date or special event any time of year.) The studio’s team of makeup artists can expertly design the face you’re going for—and make sure it doesn’t melt or move all night long. Plus, the studio also offers hair blowouts and styling, which means you’re certain to look the part—at least from the neck up.

The new beauty outpost is owner Liz Gonzalez-Lara’s second venture. Her first—bridal beauty service Beauty On Location Studio—opened in Denver in 2007 and provides makeup and hair styling for destination weddings. Realizing that downtown ladies could use a convenient beauty spot offering express or full makeup and hair services (as well as a space for special events like makeup parties and lessons), Gonzalez-Lara leapt at the chance to open L Style Bar when the intimate Walkway location became available.

And her timing couldn’t have been better: The studio is offering Halloween makeovers from October 27 through November 2. Bring an inspirational photo or your Halloween Pinterest board to your appointment—reservations required—and the staff will replicate it for $65 (hair styling ranges from $30 to $75). They can even make your kid up as the Lion King (tots 12 and under are $45), or transform your hubby’s face into his favorite superhero (same pricing as the ladies).
