Skiing with kids doesn’t need to break your budget thanks to Winter Park’s Kids Comp Pass. Here’s the deal: Buy an adult season pass for Winter Park ($389 until April 15) and a kid 12 and under in your household rides the lift for nothing. Winter Park’s Steve Hurlbert says that beyond being a family-friendly resort, “This is another way for us to address and cater to Colorado families who want to ski affordably.” Additionally, all season pass holders get 40 percent off ski and snowboard rentals, 50 percent off tubing, 10 percent of eats at resort restaurants, and a one-time 10 percent off discount for lessons.
For families who love the local mountains, but find themselves wanting to dash away for ski weekends elsewhere, another deal is the Intrawest Passport. The Passport equals six days at each of Intrawest’s six resorts. The tiered program costs $549 for the first adult, $399 for any other adults, $199 for kids 13 to 20 years old, and up to five kids (12 and under) ski free with the purchase of an adult pass. Hurlbert says this deal fits the family looking to do a holiday or spring break trip. “The pass is aimed at destination skiers with families,” Hurlbert says. “It makes the trips more affordable.” No catch here: There are no black-out dates or restrictions.
So, enjoy the fleeting white-weathered days of winter while they last.
