This is hardly a surprise, but former Denver Mayor Welling Webb has formally announced his candidacy for the chairmanship of the Democratic National Committee. Webb, who was mayor from 1991 to 2003, is basing his campaign on the premise that the party needs a Washington outsider to lead it.
He also said that the Democrats needs to focus more on the South and the West moving forward.

“We’ve abdicated the South and the West to the Republican Party, and when we don’t put resources there, we’re going to lose.”
