Diane Carman has an amusing column today about how disappointed she was to hear former Congresswoman Pat Schroeder in a radio commercial for diet pills. The woman announces she is Pat Schroeder and has lost 28 pounds due to some new wonder pill that unlike ephedra, is not banned by the Government.
Diane’s curiousity got the better of her so she did some digging. Turns out, it’s not our Pat Schroeder. It’s a nobody from Nebraska with the same name.
Will people be confused? Probably in Colorado. But in Nebraska, most of the people Diane talked to responded, “Pat Who?”
So, mistaken identity or slick marketing tool? Carmen concludes the former.
I actually believe these bozos. I mean, what Coloradan would ever dispute the “I’m from Nebraska and totally clueless” defense?
