A note to all Nuggets fans, especially the ones who aren’t paying much attention: If there was ever a time your team needed you, tonight is that time. Down 3-2 to the Lakers in the best-of-seven National Basketball Association Western Conference Finals, the Nuggets must win tonight at the Pepsi Center (7 p.m., ESPN). Even then, they would have to return Sunday to Los Angeles and win again for a chance to face Cleveland or Orlando in the NBA league finals. This up-and-down series is drawing emotions, with the staunch Nuggets fan blog Denver Stiffs begging fans of other teams the Lakers have beaten over the years for support. Coverage of this series has focused on the controversial decisions of referees (via The Denver Post), but Lakers fans are saying that the only conspiracy on the part of the NBA is to prove that there is no special treatment for the Lakers (viaThe Los Angeles Times). Either way, let’s all go out and help the “refined” Nuggets star, Carmelo Anthony, according to USA Today, celebrate his 25th birthday with a win.
