The Rocky Mountain News today has an article on our addiction to high-tech devices. Blackberry users seem to be particularly at risk for everything from divorce to thumb problems.

After 37 years of marriage, [Dick Notebaert] knew the message. “I got in a little bit of trouble,” a sheepish Notebaert admitted. “I cannot afford divorce for a BlackBerry.” Now his BlackBerry stays at the office.

It sounds funny, but it may not be. This recent British study found that IQ levels drop more sharply after reading e-mail and multi-tasking at work than it does after smoking marijuana.
