At the corner of Sixth and Milwaukee in Cherry Creek North, a heavenly smell wafts out of Rosy Rings Studio. The cozy gift boutique—part artisan showcase, part fairy garden, all charm—is the first storefront from the eponymous Denver-based candle company, whose botanical-infused candles and other fragrant sundries have earned a legion of devotees from Denver to Japan over the past 20 years. Founder Shannon Cumberland, who began by dabbling in her kitchen decades ago, parlayed her sensory works of art—she’s known mostly for her hand-poured candles infused with dried blooms, seeds, leaves, berries, and essential oils—into a thriving wholesale enterprise run out of a 30,000-square-foot workshop in the Clayton neighborhood. “A store seemed like the next logical step,” says Rosy Rings’ co-owner and retail operations director Allie Liebgott, who helms the shop. “It took over a year and a half to find the perfect location, fix it up, and open. It has given the company a public persona. We are getting to know our customers on a more personal level, and they are getting to know us, too.”
The shop is more than a storefront for the Rosy Rings brand. Customers will find a thoughtful assortment of home decor and giftable items—whimsical stationery, fair-trade handwoven baskets, jewelry made from recycled metals—from artisans and vendors both local and far-flung. Got a foodie on your list? The Half Baked Harvest cookbooks from Colorado author and food blogger Tieghan Gerard fly off the shelves, Liebgott says. Want to pamper someone? Bath-and-body treats from Soap & Paper Factory are bestsellers. And don’t miss the children’s section for sweet ideas like pen-pal kits kids can use to write to their grandparents. The best part, she says, is that there’s a bit of everything in the shop. “If you want to spend $25 or $200 on a gift for someone, you can.” (Psst: No judging if that someone is you.)
