Dozens of flights from Denver International Aiport to the east coast have already been cancelled as a result of Hurricane Sandy. On Sunday, as the powerful storm worked its way toward the coast, 50 outbound flights were nixed; today, as the storm bares down on the New Jersey coastline, approximately 60 flights out of DIA are expected to be cancelled. (By way of comparison, an average of 1,700 flights arrive and leave DIA per day). According to DIA’s director of media relations, Laura Coale, flight delays and cancellations are possible through the end of the week.
