Online bookings for the Denver Art Museum’s annual wine tasting closed yesterday–meaning there’s only one way to still get tickets for this popular event. Get to the museum early tomorrow. Doors for the tasting open at 6 p.m., and if this year is like last, the museum will have fewer spaces than people who want in.
DAM Uncorked, as the gathering is officially called, is so darn popular because of the incredible variety of pours it offers. This year’s lineup includes more than 350 wines from far-flung regions like Bordeaux and Mendoza, Argentina, as well as closer-to-home wines like those of Washington state. (A portion of the event is dedicated to the Northwestern state’s characteristically fruity Chardonnays, Merlots, and Cabernets.)
Wine reps and distributors will also be on-hand to explain the pours, but if you’re really itching to brush up on your drink knowledge, arrive at the museum at 5 p.m., and buy a ticket for First Taste. DAM Uncorked’s version of a VIP ticket gives you first crack at the wines and aficionados, before they are overwhelmed by the crowds.
