1 – Place 2 cups whole nuts (such as peanuts, cashews, or almonds) in a food processor and run for 60 to 90 seconds, or until the nut mixture forms a few large chunks in the bowl.
2 – With the food processor running, slowly add 8 to ¼ cup of peanut oil. (The amount will vary depending on how many natural oils are in the nuts themselves.) Stop when the butter appears to be spreadable. Keep in mind that the butter will thicken upon settling.
3 – Season with a pinch of sea salt (about ¼ teaspoon or to taste) and blend again. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dark place for one week.
