Rockies manager Clint Hurdle may be feeling the heat from the fans, but according to one of the team’s owners, his job is safe. Tuesday, Rockies vice chairman Dick Monfort said that speculation on Hurdle losing his job is a “non-event,” according to MLB.com. But pressure from the fans isn’t going anywhere, with blogs like “Hurdling to Rock Bottom” popping up to remind us all how mediocre the team is, and to articulate the frustration many fans feel. The day after Monfort expressed his confidence in his beleaguered manager, the Rockies were on the wrong end of a 15-11 beat down by the Houston Astros yesterday at Coors Field (via The Denver Post).
