Anyone who says it’s more expensive to eat sustainably hasn’t discovered Bramble & Hare‘s happy hour menu. The Boulder farm-to-table pub is the dialed down, sister restaurant to chef-owner Erik Skokan‘s more upscale, special occasion-worthy Black Cat next door.
Bramble & Hare’s happy hour is where the deals really sing: From 4 to 5:30 p.m. daily, order anything from the seasonally charged, $5 menu. That will yield dishes such as fresh ricotta with pear butter and walnuts; cozy Farmhouse soup; shaved apple salad with pomegranate and cheese crisps; or a decadent grilled cheese (a house favorite since the restaurant opened in July) with rustic bread and gooey Les Frères cheese. All of these eats are made all the better when paired with a $5 beer, wine, or cocktail from the chalkboard menu.
Bonus: Just like at Black Cat, the vast majority of Bramble & Hare’s ingredients come from Skokan’s Black Cat Farm. He and his wife Jill own the farm, run it, harvest their own products, and even cure charcuterie from their livestock.
