All month, Denverites have been celebrating two things near and dear to our hearts: water conservation and, yes, beer. Why? Because March 22 is World Water Day, and certain craft beer companies care deeply about their water practices—especially when people around the world have so little access to clean, safe, drinking water. Denver-based nonprofit Water For People—which gives impoverished global communities access to life-saving clean water—and Freshcraft have come up with the month long All Hopped Up for Water initiative to raise awareness and funds.
The campaign showcases beers from New Belgium, Avery, Victory, and Boulevard brewing companies in a “Flight for Water” available at Freschraft (proceeds go toward Water for People), and includes information on how each craft brewery has adopted water conservation strategies. The celebration culminates this Thursday, March 22, with Freshcraft’s four-course food and beer pairing. Dig into dishes from Kenya, Honduras, Peru, and India—our money is on the sopa de caracol, a Honduran coconut and conch soup, paired with the spicy, malty New Belgium Lips of Faith Cocoa Mole. Find tickets and the menu here.
March 22, 7 p.m., $45, 1530 Blake St., 303-758-9608
