Bob Beauprez, trailing badly in the polls in the Governor’s race against Bill Ritter, has enlisted a new ally: former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

It’s been a rough couple of weeks for Bob Beauprez, with state and federal investigations looking into how his campaign received information from a protected federal database. But the Republican candidate for governor in Colorado is now getting a helping hand from a guy who’s got a ton of political star power right now, America’s mayor, Rudy Giuliani.

There are few politicians I dislike more than Rudy Giuliani. I’ll spare you the reasons (although you can read them on TalkLeft.) As the New York Daily News opined after the Bernie Kerik fiasco when President Bush nominated Bernie Kerik for Homeland Security Chief, substantially upon the recommendation of Giuliani,

If Beauprez weren’t in dire straits, wouldn’t he have done the same?
