If you’re not taking part in this week’s beer festivities—or even if you are—you’ve got time for these fun and feel-good events in your community.

Cheer: Support victims of the Colorado floods while supporting Denver’s minor league hockey team, the Cutthroats. Throughout the entire month of October, $25 from each full season ticket sale will be donated to local nonprofits that have been involved in flood relief efforts. The team is also donating 1,000 tickets to their preseason game against Rapid City on October 11 to those affected by the flooding.

Dine: How often do you get the chance to chow down with a former president? To celebrate its selection as a host city for the 30th Annual Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project, Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver is inviting you all to dinner on October 9. Tickets to the Raise the Roof Presidential Dinner and Celebration (starting at $250) include the meal, presentations by former President Jimmy Carter and prominent Habitat representatives, and a performance by The Fray lead singer Isaac Slade.

Bark: There’s nothing quite like watching adorable pups parade around in Halloween costumes. Join International Hearing Dog, Inc. for its Fourth Annual Dog-o-Ween on Saturday, October 12. Along with the canine costume contest, there will be tours of the kennel, guide dog demonstrations, and a silent auction. The event, including food, is free, but there is a $10 fee for entering your dog in the costume contest. Last year’s blue ribbon-winner was a pomeranian puppy disguised as a squirrel—can you top that?

Get Dirty: Grab your best girlfriends on October 12, and slog your way through this muddy 5K benefitting L.I.F.E., an organization that supports children and young adults with leukemia and lymphoma. The LoziLu Women’s Mud Run is a full-day event: After tackling the 13 obstacles, rinse off, raid the Snack Drawer, and head to the LoziLu After Party. Register individually or as a team (both options cost $79), and don’t forget to wear a costume.

Imbibe: Witness the ultimate showdown between beer and wine at Frasca on October 8. Cicerone Ryan Conklin and sommelier Bobby Stuckey will pair their beverages with four courses; it’s up to you to decide who pairs better. Tickets are $125 per person, and a portion of the proceeds will go to a charity of the winner’s choice.
