Plates for the Peak: Come with an appetite and leave knowing you’ve made a difference in a young person’s life. Hosted by Vesta Dipping Grill’s owners, Josh and Jen Wolkon, guests will be treated to plates of New Orleans-style soul food, like fried green tomatoes, shrimp and grits, Nashville hot fried frog legs, okra gumbo, house made Andouille sausage jambalaya, corn fritters, and crab cakes. Pints for PetAid: Beer and pet lovers unite. Jagged Mountain Brewery’s full selection will be on tap with $1 from every pint purchased going directly to PetAid, which provides programs that address animal health and welfare issues. Attendees can take a guess at how many dog biscuits are in a jar for chance to win tickets to History Colorado or a gift card to Zaidy’s Deli. Oktoberfest for Special Olympics Colorado: Everyone wins when you can enjoy a beer and raise money for a cause at the same time. Guests at this event get a free beer of their choosing from Ratio Brewery with every ticket purchased, plus entry into a raffle for a chance to win a one night stay at the Hyatt Regency Denver. All proceeds benefit Special Olympics Colorado, which helps more than 20,000 Coloradans with intellectual disabilities pursue athletic endeavors. Howlin’ Halloween Pet Costume Party: Treat yourself and your pup to some Halloween hijinks. Dress up your four-legged friend or come dressed as a duo for a chance to win select grooming packages from Woof in Boots. Food will be provided on a donation basis, but feel free to let Fido bob for hot dogs and other treats. Proceeds benefit MaxFund Animal Shelter, a no-kill shelter that takes in injured animals. Harvest for Hope & Healing: Celebrate the 40th anniversary of Karis Community and enter for a chance to win a variety of auction prizes at this event. Denver Chophouse & Brewery will provide the food and drinks, while former First Lady of Colorado Jeannie Ritter will serve as the honorary chair and speak on the important role Karis Community plays in providing mental health services to the program’s participants. Some of the auction prizes include a ski package to Breckenridge, a painting by Colorado artist Rick Young, and tickets to the Denver Broncos game against the Oakland Raiders on January 1. Proceeds benefit Karis Community’s Empowerment Program, which provides a transitional living and life skills training in a supportive community environment to Karis Community members. Halloween for Haiti: Put on your dancing shoes for what is sure to be a “thrilling” evening. VIP ticket holders will learn the dance from Michael Jackson’s Thriller, taught by Rico Changeux, dance instructor at Boulder’s Streetside Dance, before the night begins. There may even be an opportunity to show off your newfound dance moves, so stay warmed up. The winner of the best costume contest will cruise off on a brand new longboard, courtesy of Longjohns Longboards. Little Man Ice Cream will serve scoops of their frozen treats, all made from locally sourced ingredients. Proceeds will be split between the Colorado Haiti Project and the Vertile House to assist with rebuilding efforts in Haiti after Hurricane Matthew.
