At this time of year, there’s plenty of turkey cooking, pie eating, and shopping to be done. Get in the holiday spirit while giving back with these uplifting events.
Outsource Baking: Haven’t quite mastered the art of baking? Project Angel Heart’s Pie in the Sky sale offers a slew of scrumptious pies for $25 each so you can bypass the kitchen. For each pie sold, Project Angel Heart will prepare and deliver five Thanksgiving meals to families in need. Hurry, though, because the online sale ends Thursday.
That's only $1 per issue!
The Gift of Gobble: ‘Tis the season to give turkeys. Denver Rescue Mission is hoping to meet their goal of 15,000 donated frozen turkeys to help prepare Thanksgiving meals for the homeless and hungry this year. You can help by dropping off a 12-pound (or more) turkey to the Lawrence Street Shelter this week. Can’t find the time to hit the grocery? DRM is also accepting cash contributions, which can be donated online.
Stop and Shop: Get a head-start on your holiday shopping this weekend at Junior League of Denver’s largest annual fundraising event, the Mile High Holiday Mart. Your $12 donation gets you access to thousands of gift items from local and national retailers.
Puppy Love: Don’t forget about your furry friends this holiday season. Starting today, you can stop by the Dumb Friends League animal shelter to fill out a paw decoration with a donation amount of your choice. Proceeds will help DFL care for thousands of homeless dogs, cats, and horses.
