In Colorado, giving back to the community is as easy as eating, drinking, and de-cluttering. Here are three ways to get involved this week.
Pedal Power: Each year, cyclists and breweries team up for a six-day, 476-mile bike ride across the state to visit a slew of breweries and raise money for local charities along the way. Join five Colorado breweries—Ska Brewing Company, Avery Brewing Company, Boulder Beer, Left Hand Brewing Company, and Oskar Blues Brewery—as they kick off fundraising efforts for July’s Tour de BoulDurango. Taste beers from all five breweries, compete in stationary bike races, and raise money for Bicycle Colorado at Breckenridge Colorado Craft’s happy hour event. Thu, 5-7 p.m., 2220 Blake St.
That's only $1 per issue!
Clean Shelves: Arc Thrift Stores and 7News are making the act of spring cleaning a lot simpler this year. De-clutter your pantry shelves by donating cans, boxes, and bags of nonperishable food items to 75 food banks around the state in the 14th annual Feed Colorado Food Drive. Schedule a free pick up online or by calling 303-283-JANE, or stop by a metro area drop-off locations. Through May 15
Get Educated: Raise your glasses and forks in support of Greenhouse Scholars, a nonprofit organization that offers college education funds for low-income students, during the group’s Glass Half Full event. Enjoy food and drinks from local restaurants and distilleries such as Root Down, TAG, Pinche Taqueria, Leopold Brothers, and Breckenridge Distillery. Thu, 6-10 p.m., McNichols Civic Center Building
