Another crazy year for the Denver real estate market is in the books. As of early December, when the Denver Metro Association of REALTORS released its December “Denver Metro Real Estate Market Trends Report,” 2017 was on pace to break last year’s record for the number of homes sold in metro Denver. In the luxury market, 135 homes sold for $1 million or more in November, up 22.73 percent year over year. A record 10.47 percent of those sales were condos, which have never surpassed 8 percent of the luxury market—until now.
So just what do you get for $1 million in Denver these days? According to Devon Richardson, associate broker at Kentwood City Properties, buyers in central Denver can expect a good location and luxury finishes. “For a million dollars, families are looking for big lots, open floor plans, and high-end kitchens,” Richardson says. “In the condo market, buyers want spectacular views—and again—those high-end finishes.”
Here, four for-sale properties demonstrate what you can expect if you’ve got $1 million to spend. And if you don’t, well, it costs nothing to look.

What we love: This Parkwood model looks traditional from the outside, but inside, modern design details—a Sputnik-inspired chandelier in the living room, a sleek and spacious kitchen—offer an unexpected surprise. Other extras: a large finished basement and big backyard, intricate tile work, and plantation shutters throughout.
