Until the house lights go dim, it will be nearly impossible to know what’s in store for the Bug Theatre’s last-Monday-of-the-month Freak Train performance tonight. The performers arrive just an hour before curtain call, and the first 12 to get there are awarded one of the coveted performance spots. Come 8 p.m., when the show starts–and the audience is buzzed on Breckenridge Brewery beers–each of those dozen actors, comedians, or unabashed attention seekers will have five minutes in the spotlight. In the past, mock radio shows and multimedia cowboy skits (read: real people plus digital horse projections) have commanded the stage. While laughter is likely at this event, it isn’t guaranteed. Freak Train prides itself on being uncensored, and political rants are just as likely as comedy. Either way, the place fills up fast, leaving only standing room, so arrive early. 8 p.m., $5 The Bug Theatre, 3654 Navajo St., 303-477-9984
