A Colorado summer is something to be enjoyed. Why not make it your new gym? Here, just a few of the ways to join other Denverites in breaking a sweat outdoors.

Yoga: Denver Botanic Gardens

Say “Namaste” while surrounded by thousands of blooming flowers and plants. The Denver Botanic Gardens is opening its grounds for sunrise yoga, an addition to its year-round Monday and Wednesday evening sessions. Bring your own mat and water, and breathe in the fresh, floral air.

When: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Where: Denver Botanic Gardens

Cost: $8 member, $10 non-member per session

Hike: After Work Hiking Plus

Why not swap happy hour for a trailhead? After Work HIking Plus boasts more than 3,700 members and almost daily hikes all over town. The group requires hikers to register to keep numbers appropriate, so don’t just show up. Bonus: Dogs are usually welcome, depending on each trail’s regulation.

When & Where: Varies, check site for locations.

Run: Denver Beer Co. Run Club

Is there anything better than a free pasta dinner and a cold craft beer after a run? Head down to Denver Beer Co. for its weekly 5k run club, and you will get just that. The running route takes you through LoHi and along the South Platte River before pouring you out back on DBC’s patio.

When: Tuesdays, 6 p.m., year-round, but more popular in summer

Where: Denver Beer Co.

Cost: Free

Bike: Denver Cruiser Ride

Two-wheeled and in costume is how we roll in Denver. The annual summer Denver Cruiser Ride series is a bucket list item for any city newcomer or longtime Mile Higher, and this summer, the theme lineup doesn’t disappoint (bubble wrap and duct tape on June 18, for example). While this ride may be insufficient training for the Mt. Evans Hill Climb, it is still an easy way to burn a few calories and maintain your cardio.

When: Wednesdays, through September 24

Where: Various locations

Cost: Free

Boot camp: Red Rocks Fitness Challenge

A team of personal trainers will take you through a one hour-long, military boot camp-style workout. Bonus: They will dole out nutritional and health advice, too.

When: Most Saturday mornings, 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.

Where: Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre

Price: $12 drop-in rate
