When the weather outside is frightful, a fire is so delightful. A cold Colorado night is the perfect excuse to cozy up in front a fireplace. Gas or wood, inside and outside, Denver has no shortage of warm spots to linger—so pull on a sweater, find some good company, greet the frightful weather and let one of these five fireplaces delight you.
Bull & Bush Brewery
A beacon of light in the cave-like brewpub, Bull & Bush’s fireplace has been illuminating diners since 1971. Skip a table and opt for one of the two leather couches flanking the fireplace–a perfect spot to enjoy a snifter or two of their imperial stout, a customer favorite.
Caveau Wine Bar
The only thing more soothing than a fireplace, is a fireplace accompanied by a glass of red wine. Try out the combo at Caveau to warm up and relax after a long day of work. (During happy hour, $12 glasses of wine are slashed to $6.)
Second Home Kitchen + Bar
Sometimes, when we’re nestled up near the outdoor fire pit at Second Home we feel like making it our second home. With cushioned outdoor couches and lounges on one side and four-top tables on the other, the long fire pit melts away the chilliest days.
La Loma
As if Grandma Mendoza’s green chile wasn’t enough to make the trek to Jefferson Park, the crackling fire in the historic 19th century house-turned-restaurant may have even non-Mexican food lovers clamoring to La Loma to warm up. And not to worry, if you score a seat right next to the fireplace, your frozen margarita won’t melt–but that doesn’t mean you have to sip it slowly.
Barolo Grill
One of the most seductive and romantic seats in town, a meal shared at the two-top table next to Barolo Grill’s fireplace is the perfect spot for canoodling. Order a bottle, and call a cab to get home safely.
