Even though I’m teetering on the brink of marriage, I’ve spent the bulk of my years in Colorado single. And though Denver and Boulder are often touted as great places to meet other singles, said singles are often so busy—working, mountain biking, racing triathlons, hiking—that it’s tough to connect.
A few Boulder outdoor retailers have taken notice of the active singles scene and have now created a monthly event around it. On the first Tuesday of every month, Full Cycle, Fleet Feet Sports, and the Boulder Mountainbike Alliance join forces to offer MIX, a singles run and ride followed by a happy hour. There are three ways to participate:
Mountain bikers meet with the BMA at the Marshall Trail Head at 6 p.m. (RSVP here.)
If road riding is more your speed, gather at Full Cycle (1795 Pearl St.) at 6 p.m. for a 45-minute ride.
And runners meet at Fleet Feet (at Balsam and Broadway) at 6 p.m. for a group run.
Afterward, all three groups join up for a happy hour at 7:15 p.m. at Reuben’s Burger Bistro, on the corner of Walnut and Broadway, to mingle.
