Given all the recent turmoil at the Denver Film Society (staff quitting, director leaving, staff coming back), it was a relief to learn that the group’s annual outdoor film series at Red Rocks will continue this summer.
Tonight kicks off the 10-movie program with the soulful acoustic band The Wheel and the Coen brothers’ cult classic The Big Lebowski. Later in the summer, watch out for folksy Gregory Alan Isakov, opening for Office Space, and Paperbird’s performance before Top Gun.
As in past summers, Film on the Rocks starts at 7 p.m. with the opening band, and the movie reel gets going around dusk (9 p.m.).
