Local women will appreciate Michelle Smith’s pattern-mix route for fall, with a combination of tweeds, paisleys, a neutral peacock print, and gold metallic in key contemporary silhouettes for the season.
The Gist: Milly has become a big hit on the contemporary scene over the last couple of years, mostly due to Michelle Smith’s wearable and well-priced frocks. The designer offers up plenty of variations for fall 2009: solid ruffle-front dresses, printed straight shifts, a black-and-white halter dress, and cocktail numbers featuring oversize bows or tiers of ruffles.
Smith rounds out her collection with daytime looks that include short skirts, blouson sleeve blouses, three-quarter-sleeve coats and jackets with rounded shoulders, and cropped knit cardigans.
