He may be known for his love of color, but the latest venture from Denver fashion designer Mondo Guerra will have you seeing black and white. That’s right; the Project Runway All Stars winner’s most recent effort is an all b&w capsule collection with a focus on versatile, updated basics—even though his designs are anything but.
The designer’s playful love of pattern makes his latest collection functional, yet strong in novelty knitwear and separates. “Through this collection I wanted to show that versatility can be interesting, quirky, and unique,” explains Guerra. Expect to see trans-seasonal items perfect for layering, like the asymmetrical cable mesh and solid knit Influx-Asym Sweater ($160) and the cable knit mesh Phonic Knit Vest ($84) (both pictured above). And with the entire line priced between $25 and $165, the collection is wallet-friendly, as well.
You can join Guerra to celebrate the launch of his new line this Saturday at the Hotel Monaco Denver. Enjoy light appetizers and “Mondotini” cocktails while chatting with the designer about the inspiration behind the collection. You can also visit the pop-up boutique in the hotel lobby and purchase pieces from the line.
