A story seems to have even more potential when it’s accompanied by a dusty, used-book smell. The narrative has already lived for other people: It’s been enjoyed, passed around, and its pages creased by strangers with whom you suddenly have something in common.
We can all find some new-to-us books, CDs, and DVDs at this week’s Gigantic Used Book Sale, now in its 35th year thanks to the Denver Public Library’s Friends Foundation.
The sale, which features over 60,000 items, takes place at the Denver Central Library on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The prices are budget-friendly to everyone: Hard covers are $3, paperbacks range from 50 cents to $1, and DVDs, CDs, and audio books are $1.
Itching for a peek at the used loot? Attend a Members-Only Preview Party on Wednesday by joining the Friends Foundation.
